Thanks, Alan. That Goldwyn quote is one of my favorites! I'm trying my best to keep my posts apolitical, but a lot of readers came to the same conclusion you did. I will check out your article.
I could not help but think of one of our most well-known, but not universally loved, public figures as I read today's column. I don't know if you were intentionally doing that mind-meld trick on your faithful readers, but it certainly worked for me.
Nice personal note, doc. It's been too long since I first read Walden - thanks for the reminder. No lie - I guessed the puzzler, perhaps thanks to the graffiti at Uris library: "God is dead; Nietzsche. Nietzsche is dead, God."
Well I‘m off for some self-examination now!
Great as always, Mardy. Thank you, John
And thanks for writing, John. A little self-examination is always a good thing!
Hi Mardy. Here is a quote similar to telling the truth will set you free.
"I don't want any yes-men around me. I want everybody to tell me the truth, even if it costs them their jobs." by Samuel Goldwyn.
Anyone in mind who inspired this week's edition? Could his initials be DJT?
Here is a link to a recent essay I published on Medium. I believe we are of like minds. Check out the 2 quotes at the end of the essay.

Good morning, Mardy.

Warm regards.
Thanks, Edward. See my reply to Alan Weinstein above.
