Dr Mardy, you forgot the official THE before Ohio State University! I know this as a life long Buckeye. At first I thought you might be referring to any one of Ohio’s famous cartoonists, including Thurber. Ohio State is home to the Billy Ireland Cartoon Library and Museum, which holds over 450 thousand original woks of art and 2.5 million comic strip clippings. Just a few cartoonists include Bill Watterson, Milton Caniff, Walt Kelly and Joe Cannaday. If you are in Columbus it might be worth a visit.

Thanks for all your columns!

Sorry for the missing "The" Karen. I'll try to do better next time! I didn't realize that Ohio might also be called "The Cartoonist's State"!

Thanks for sharing the Trike story. The picture is, as the saying goes, worth a thousand words. You appeared to be enjoying yourself while channeling The Wild One...

Best wishes for a safe, happy, and healthy holiday season.

I love the photo of you & your wife on the trike.l You look a lot like Marlon Brando in THE WILD ONE.

"What are you rebelling against?"

"What've you got?"

Thanks, Louis. As I said to the previous commenter, "The Mild One" might be more appropriate in my case.

well, after being in an emotionally empty marriage for too many years, I divorced at the age of 65 & my adventure then began by moving to a state, by myself, where I knew no one. So many people thought that was brave, but to me, it was opening doors! And doors were opened - new adventures, some tame but longed for, such as dancing. Moved to Texas & had no idea what 2 Step meant, nor Country Waltz. I did know I wanted to learn to Swing Dance, so now every week, we (my new husband & I) are danc'n fools, Country, etc., & I absolutely LOVE to do the West Coast Swing!!! Another adventure from my bucket list was to get my scuba diving license - I was by far the oldest in my class. Oh, but the wonderous world under the seas!!! Soooo glorious & peaceful & magical! So glad I didn't miss that adventure!!!
