again, I thoroughly enjoyed reading your post! Many smiles, & some thoughts.
I had never heard of your quote: "Some people have long toes..." very good!!
I do volunteer work at a thrift store, & I work specifically in the book section. The mysteries are always sought after, & Sue Grafton is definitely a collector's favorite!!!
Remind me never to give you a hammer. Again, you hit the nail on the head; however, I believe another head should have been the target.
Forgive me for speaking in riddles, but we both know that if anyone is even "sorta familiar" with the history of one of our current almost-candidates for President, then one could understand better his talk and his actions.
Thank you for making Sundays so full of life and promise. Your columns are so welcoming to me.
Truly my pleasure, Barbara. I've been a great Grafton fan as well. I knew she was struggling at the end, and I was rooting for her to finish that final novel, but I guess it just wasn't meant to be. But what a career!
Greetings, ...The new Substock format is generally much longer ,but hardly any better than the previous one. Less is more...!
best wishes, andrew
Thanks for weighing in, Andrew! I'll keep your words in mind.

Thanks, dj. I heard that "long toes" thought for the first time more than forty years ago, and have loved it ever since.
Never underestimate the insecurity of a star. — William Goldman
Isn't the sun a star? No wonder our planet is a bit wobbly.
Very clever, my friend. That interpretation never occurred to me!
Dr Mardy, thank you for helping to make sense of our world, both within and without. Much appreciated and most grateful. Jim

Thanks for your heartwarming words, Ed. I'm grateful for your longstanding interest and support.
my husband does crosswords & Grafton is often puzzle clues - how would she like that honor? :-)
eta: obviously, this means your column often makes it into our Sunday discussion
So pleased to be part of the discussion!
Lots of food for thought in this one! Thank you!
And it was great to see an updated picture of Sue Grafton....for so many years I have been a fan of Kinsey!
